News: 1 killed, 1 injured in Pacific Beach pedestrian crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 22-year-old woman died Sunday after a vehicle struck her and a male companion along a roadway in Pacific Beach, reports Fox 5.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the area of 3400 Riviera Drive, which is just west of Crown Point Beach.

Authorities say a southbound Toyota Tacoma struck the couple as they stood on the west sidewalk. The Toyota also hit the couple’s parked Chevy Tahoe.

Medics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene, and they transported the man to a local hospital.

Police arrested the 22-year-old driver of the Toyota on a DUI charge.
