SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person was injured Wednesday morning due to a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 8 in La Mesa, reports ABC 10 News.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on the I-8 onramp from El Cajon Boulevard.
Witnesses said one driver was traveling against traffic on the eastbound interstate when they entered the entrance ramp. Moments later, the wrong-way vehicle sideswiped one car and caused multiple others to collide.
One involved driver suffered undisclosed injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital. No one else has been reported hurt.
The causing vehicle, which was seen continuing onto La Mesa city streets, has yet to be located. Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle.
