SAN DIEGO CO., CA – A teen died and a man was taken into custody following a hit-and-run in Escondido on Saturday night.
According to CBS 8, a 14-year-old was crossing Bear Valley Parkway near Grand Avenue against a no-walk sign shortly before 9:30 p.m.. when he was hit.
Officers discovered the victim ling crucially injured in the road. He was rushed to Palomar Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The driver involved, 70-year-old Jon Edwin Kiesel, was located and taken into custody. It is unclear what charges he will face.
