ESCONDIDO, CA – Two 19-year-olds were hurt Monday morning when their vehicle fell down a 30-foot embankment in western San Diego County, reports abc10 News San Diego.
The incident happened just before 1:40 a.m. on Beethoven Drive near the Westfield North County Mall and Kit Carson Park.
Authorities say that 911 received an alert from the iPhone of one of the occupants in the sedan. First responders were able to track the location of the phone to find the crash site.
Emergency response crews rescued the two 19-year-olds from their crashed vehicle and took them to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
