News: 2 injured in La Mesa rollover crash after fleeing traffic stop

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Two people were hospitalized late Monday after their car crashed into a wall and overturned in La Mesa, according to ABC 10 News.

The collision occurred in the 7700 block of Alvarado Road shortly after 11:26 p.m.

San Diego Police said officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a car because its taillight was out. In response, the driver sped away down Alvarado Road until they lost control. The car collided with a wall and rolled over, ejecting both the driver and a passenger.

Authorities said a male occupant was found in the middle of the roadway. A female occupant was trapped under the car but was pulled out after officers were able to lift the vehicle. Both patients were transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

At this time, the SDPD has not disclosed any details regarding possible charges.
