SAN DIEGO, CA – Two women sustained injuries when four cars collided on a wet roadway near Carmel Valley on Wednesday morning, reports abc 10 News.
The incident happened just before 8 a.m. on Del Mar Heights Road near Carmel Canyon Road, which is just northeast of Carmel Mission Park.
The investigation indicates that a the 16-year-old driver of a 2016 BMW lost traction and slid from an eastbound lane onto the westbound side of the road. The BMW struck a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Corolla in the left turn lane. The Camry then struck a Lexus SUV to its rear.
The driver of the Corolla, identified as a 50-year-old woman, went to the hospital with serious injuries. Medics also transported the 54-year-old female driver of the Camry to the hospital.
Neither the driver of the BMW, nor the driver of the Lexus sustained injuries in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
