CARLSBAD, CA – Medics were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash along the interstate in Carlsbad on Friday afternoon, reports the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 1:27 p.m. on the southbound side of I-5, just south of Chinquapin Avenue.
Police say the crash involved at least five vehicles and started when one vehicle rear-ended another. At least three of the involved vehicles sustained substantial damage, and officials blocked two lanes of I-5 southbound while crews worked to clear the scene.
