News: Bicyclist injured following crash on Friars Rd

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman was seriously injured in a bicycle crash on the 5100 block of Friars Rd Tuesday afternoon, according to CNS.

A 56-year-old woman was riding an electric bicycle without a helmet west when she collided with an abandoned shopping cart in the bike lane around 5:20 p.m.

The collision caused the woman to be ejected from the bicycle and land on her head.

Emergency responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where she was put on life support with a brain bleed.

The incident is under investigation by the Traffic Division of the San Diego Police Department.
