News: Collision involving San Diego sheriff’s deputy in Imperial Beach injures 1

SAN DIEGO CO., CA – A woman was hospitalized following a crash involving a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department vehicle on Wednesday evening.

According to NBC 7 San Diego, the crash happened at about 5:16 p.m. as the deputy pulled into the intersection of Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street with lights and sirens active and collided with a Ford Mustang Coupe.

The Mustang’s driver, a 34-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The deputy was unhurt.

Investigators say neither drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
