News: Crash in Temecula injures SAPD sergeant riding motorcycle

SAN DIEGO CO., CA –  An SAPD Sergeant riding a motorcycle was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup truck in Temecula on Saturday night.

According to NBC San Diego, the sergeant was heading north on Rainbow Canyon Road around 8:35 p.m. when he lost control near Rainbow Valley Boulevard, causing the motorcycle to slid onto its side. The bike then slid into oncoming traffic where it was hit by a Nissan pickup truck.

Sergeant Franklin White, 42, was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old Fallbrook Man, was unhurt. It is unclear if any charges will be filed in connection to the collision.

The things you do in the time following a collision are essential when it comes to your ability to secure compensation in the weeks, months, and even years afterward. First, you should pull over to a safe part of the roadway, which will protect you and your vehicle from being involved in a second crash. Next, check on every occupant of your vehicle. If someone is hurt, contact first responders right away. After that, begin gathering evidence at the scene, such as photos and videos. Make sure to get the contact insurance information for all other drivers involved before you depart.
