ALPINE, CA – Officials closed all lanes on the eastbound side of I-8 in Alpine on Monday night after two 18-wheelers collided near Tavern Road, reports Caltrans San Diego.

The incident happened sometime before 7:56 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Kumeyaay Highway.
The eastbound lanes of I-8 near Tavern Road remained closed for several hours while crews cleared the scene and investigated the accident. All lanes re-opened by around 1:27 a.m.
