News: Driver arrested after crashing into restaurant patio in Gaslamp Quarter

SAN DEIGO, CA – A driver was taken into custody after their vehicle slammed into the patio of a restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter early Monday.

According to KGTV, a BMW traveling the wrong way on Fourth Avenue, a one-way street, lost control of their vehicle around 2 a.m. and crashed into the patio of Operacaffee.

Fortunately, the restaurant was closed when the incident occurred.

The driver, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was able to self-extricate with no injuries. The individual was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI after being assessed by paramedics.
