News: Driver arrested after fatally striking cyclist

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver was arrested after fatally striking a cyclist in Rolando and fleeing the scene, the San Diego Union Tribune reports. 

The accident occurred near the intersection of College Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard around 2:55 p.m.

The driver was a 52-year-old woman in a Cadillac SRX. She swerved suddenly to her right and struck a 82-year-old man on a bicycle.

He was hospitalized with serious injuries before passing away at the hospital.

The driver was arrested and charged with felony hit and run.
