SAN DIEGO, CA – A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after fatally striking a 40-year-old woman in Kearny Mesa.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a Tesla heading west on Othello Avenue ran the red light at Convoy Street at about 8:30 a.m. The vehicle struck a dip in the roadway and went airborne before striking the victim as she crossed the street.
The unidentified woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she died a short time later.
The Tesla’s driver, a 39-year-old man, was taken ingot custody after showing signs of impairment at the scene. It is unclear at this time what charges he may face.
