SAN DEIGO, CA – A driver was taken into custody early Sunday after wrong-way crash in the Clairemont area left three people injured, according to ABC 10.
Witnesses reported seeing a driver heading south in the northbound lanes of I-805 at about 5 a.m. A short time later, the vehicle hit the center median and crashed down an embankment, landing in the westbound lanes of CA-52.
All three occupants were extricated and transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The driver, whose identity is unclear at this time, was later taken into custody on DUI charges.
