SAN DIEGO, CA – According to CNS, a driver died after slamming into a trolley on the 1200 block of Sampson St Saturday.
A 1969 GMC truck driver was heading east on Sampson St when they drove into the westbound lane to go around the crossing arms of the trolley as they were coming down. The trolley crashed into the side of the truck and propelled it into a pole on the trolley tracks.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene of the accident.
Nobody on the trolley was hurt in the incident.
The incident is under investigation by the SDPD’s Traffic Division.
