SAN DIEGO, CA – One person died Wednesday when their vehicle crashed into a tree before catching fire in the Tierrasanta neighborhood, reports 7 San Diego.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. in the area of Santo Road and Shields Street, which is just east of the Domato Park Baseball Fields.
After hitting the tree, the driver became entrapped in the fiery wreckage and died at the scene.
It’s still unclear what caused the driver to leave the roadway.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim. A full investigation is underway.
