News: Driver killed after rear-ending semi in Fairmount Park

SAN DIEGO, CA – A man died on Sunday after losing control of his vehicle and rear-ending a parked 18-wheeler in San Diego, reports Fox 5 San Diego.

The incident happened before 4 a.m. in the area of 3500 Home Avenue, which is between Federal Boulevard and Gateway Drive.

The investigation thus far indicates that for unknown reasons, the driver of a northbound Kia veered to the right on Home Avenue and struck the back of a parked tractor-trailer.

The driver died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released his identity.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the crash. 

A full investigation is underway.
