News: Driver killed after striking tree in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, CA – A 61-year-old man was killed after hitting a tree in Chula Vista on Monday morning, Fox 5 San Diego reports. 

The victim lost control of his vehicle on the 1300 block of La Media Road around 11:30 a.m. He left the road and crashed into a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time it is not clear what caused him to leave the road. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.
