News: Driver killed in police chase, crash in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO CO., CA – A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash following a police pursuit in North County early this morning.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the driver was fleeing deputies in a pickup truck carrying pool chemicals when the truck slammed into a utility pole near Cannon Road and Lake Boulevard.

The suspect suffered fatal injuries in the wreck

A large plume of chemicals formed as a result of the crash, causing a serious situation for clean up crews. A sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized after inhaling some of the chemicals. The extent of their injuries are unclear.
