LA JOLLA, CA – One person went to the hospital with serious injuries Wednesday after their car crashed along the interstate in La Jolla, reports The San Diego Union-Tribune.
The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. on the southbound side of I-5 past Gilman Drive, which is just west of the Rose Canyon Open Space Park.
The cause of the crash is still unclear. Police say a car overturned after falling down an embankment along the interstate. Crews performed extrication measures to rescue the driver and take him to the hospital.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the accident. A full investigation is underway.
