News: DUI suspect strikes police vehicle, injures officer

SAN DIEGO, CA – An officer with the San Diego Police Department was injured after being struck by a DUI suspect on Monday morning.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the accident occurred on the 9600 block of Friars Road around 4:30 a.m.

The suspect, a 47-year-old woman, was driving a 2013 Range Rover and struck the back of the police vehicle. The officer lost consciousness and suffered other minor injures.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI charges.
