SAN DIEGO, CA – An elderly m an was killed Thursday when he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street in National City.
According to the Times of San Diego, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. as Mariano Pulido, 87, was attempting to cross East 24th Street at Highland Avenue.
Despite life-saving measures by paramedics, Pulido died at the scene.
Police say the driver involved failed to yield to the pedestrian. It is unclear what charges that individual could face.
