SAN MARCOS, CA – One person died last Friday after a garbage truck struck them at a recycling facility in San Marcos, reports NBC 7 San Diego.
The incident happened just before noon at the EDCO facility, which is located in the area of 200 South Las Posas Road. This area is just southwest of the Ronald Packard Parkway.
The investigation thus far indicates that the truck was backing up to a scale when it struck the pedestrian, who died at the scene.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, and they are still determining the cause of the accident.
