MENIFEE, CA – A man died Tuesday afternoon, and multiple other people sustained injuries when a car collided head-on with a bus in Menifee, reports NBC Palm Springs.
The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Ethanac Road and Matthews Road, which is just south of Eller Park.
The investigation thus far indicates that a westbound Ford Mustang entered the eastbound lane of traffic on Matthews and crashed into the Riverside Transit Agency bus.
The driver of the Mustang, identified as 28-year-old Mauricio Mendez, died at the scene of the crash.
There were no passengers in the car, but several people from the bus sustained injuries, and some went to the hospital for treatment.
Police say witnesses observed the driver of the Mustang driving recklessly. A full investigation is underway.
