News: Hit-and-run driver hits, kills pedestrian in Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA – A hit-and-run driver fatally collided with a male pedestrian at S Coast Hwy 101 and Encinitas Blvd Sunday, according to CNS.

A driver was heading west on Encinitas Blvd when they struck the victim as he was walking north on S Coast Hwy 101 around 12:30 a.m.

Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.

Authorities are looking for a dark-colored sedan or van with damage to the front driver’s side.

The incident is under investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s Traffic Division.
