SAN DIEGO, CA – A hit-and-run driver collided with a bicyclist on the 10000 block of Carmel Mountain Rd Friday, according to KGTV.
The 93-year-old male driver was driving a Honda Fit when he strayed off the road and hit the 63-year-old bicyclist around 5:30 p.m.
The collision caused the bicyclist to fall off the bike. He suffered a fractured leg and cuts on his face.
Following the accident, the driver left the scene.
Witnesses gave authorities the driver’s license plate number. Police officers located the driver at his home and confiscated his driver’s license.
The incident is under investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division.
Investigators do not believe impairment was a factor in the wreck.
