News: I-15 NB closed after semi overturns near Rancho Bernardo

SAN DIEGO, CA – Officials closed several of the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Rancho Bernardo Thursday after a gravel truck overturned, reports the San Diego Union Tribune.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. on the northbound side of the interstate, just south of the exit for West Bernardo Drive. This is just northeast of RB Community Park.

The investigation thus far indicates that the front tire on the 18-wheeler may have blown, causing the truck to overturn.

Authorities closed four or five lanes of the interstate while crews worked to clear gravel from the roadway. All lanes re-opened by around 2:25 p.m.

There’s still no word on whether anyone sustained injuries in the crash. A full investigation is underway.
