LA MESA, CA – A man was killed in La Mesa Saturday evening after being struck by a car as he attempted to cross the street, local news reports.
The accident occurred near the intersection of University Avenue and 70th Street around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The victim, who has not been publically identified, was attempting cross the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Volkswagen Jetta. He died at the scene.
The driver is not believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol and is not expected to face charges.
