News: Man injured after being struck by train in Carmel Valley

CARMEL VALLEY, CA – A man was injured after being struck by a freight train in Carmel Valley on Tuesday morning, ABC 10 San Diego reports.

The victim was clipped by the train near the intersection of Carmel Mountain Road and Sorrento Valley Road around 5 a.m.

The man climbed to the top of the train after he was hit and was later rescued by firefighters. It is not clear why he did so or why he was near the tracks.

He was then taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
