SAN DIEGO, CA – A 60-year-old man from Oceanside sustained critical injuries when his e-scooter crashed in north San Diego last Friday, reports NBC 7 San Diego.
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. on Roselle Street in the area of the Sorrento Valley Coaster station, which is just west of I-5 and southeast of Dunhill Street.
The investigation thus far indicates that the man crashed when his scooter hit a pothole in the road. Bystanders performed CPR on the unconscious victim until first responders arrived and transported him to the hospital.
Authorities have identified the scooter rider as James Wadsworth. They say Wadsworth was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and is now in critical condition.
A full investigation is underway.
