News: Man struck, killed by car on Mission Gorge at Royal Gorge

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 31-year-old male pedestrian died Friday morning after a car struck him on a roadway near Mission Trails Regional Park, reports abc10 News San Diego.

The incident happened around 1:08 a.m. on the westbound side of Mission Gorge Road near Royal Gorge Drive, which is in the San Carlos area of San Diego.

Police say the pedestrian was hit on a dark roadway by a 2013 Toyota Prius. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.

The 31-year-old male driver of the Toyota sustained very minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. Authorities do not suspect intoxication.

The investigation continues.
