SAN DIEGO, CA – A 74-year-old driver crashed his vehicle along the interstate in Otay Mesa Saturday after suffering a medical emergency, reports abc 10 News.
The incident happened around 6:59 p.m. on the westbound side of CA-905 at Siempre Viva Road, which is just north of the United States and Mexico border.
The investigation thus far indicates that the driver left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail after suffering a medical episode. The nature of the medical emergency remains unclear.
Medics performed CPR at the scene of the accident. No other injuries have been reported in conjunction with the event.
