SAN DIEGO, CA — California Highway Patrol officers responded to a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 5 near San Diego’s La Jolla area, according to OnScene.TV.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred on the southbound interstate near Gilman Drive. It was first reported by OnScene at 9:26 a.m.
Details are limited, but a female driver told the CHP the steering wheel of her vehicle, a white passenger car, became locked up moments before the crash. Her car appeared to have struck the center divider before veering off the roadway. It then traveled through brush on the right shoulder and crashed onto the Gilman Drive entrance ramp.
An ambulance was requested at the scene, but authorities have not disclosed any details regarding potential injuries.
