JULIAN, CA – An adult male motorcyclist died Wednesday after being ejected from his bike along a roadway in the Anza-Borrego Desert, reports The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Police say a bicyclist found the severely injured 55-year-old motorcyclist around 3 p.m. on the ground along the Great Southern Overland Stage Route near Agua Caliente County Park.
Witnesses at the scene performed CPR, and medics transported the man to a local hospital. Despite these measures, the motorcyclist died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the crash, and they are still unsure what caused the biker to lose control of his motorcycle.
