News: Motorcyclist killed when car runs red light in Lake Murray

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police arrested the 51-year-old driver of a Kia Soul Monday morning after they ran a red light and killed a 67-year-old motorcyclist, reports The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The incident happened around 5:55 a.m. at the intersection of Navajo Road and Bisby Lake Drive, which is just west of CA-125 and Lake Murray Boulevard.

Police say the 1986 Yamaha SRX-6 was headed westbound on Navajo Road when it collided with the Kia in the intersection.

Medics transported the biker to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Authorities have not yet discussed the charges pending against the driver of the Kia. The investigation continues.
