News: Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision with tow truck in East Village

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he was hit by a tow truck in the East Village on Monday.

According to a report by Fox 5 San Diego, the driver of the tow truck ran the red light at Market Street and 13th Street around 5 p.m. and collided with the southbound Triumph motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, was sent to the hospital with perforated spleen, an open fracture to his left tibia/fibula and a fractured left foot. None of his injuries are believed to be life-threatening at this time.

It is unclear if the tow truck driver will be charged in connection to the incident.
