Car accidents happen very quickly, and it’s completely natural to feel anxious and overwhelmed immediately following a wreck. In those first moments, however, it’s important that you complete these steps, especially if you plan to file an insurance claim or initiate a suit against a negligent driver. First, do your best to move out of the roadway and to ensure the safety of yourself and your passengers. Next, insist that the other driver involved in the accident exchange insurance information with you. Also, insist that first responders come to the scene to provide you with an official accident report. If you’re able, take pictures of the wreck. Finally, if you’ve been injured in a San Diego County car accident, request a free case evaluation from the Escondido car accident lawyers at HHJ Trial Attorneys by completing our online form or by calling 1-610-INJURED.
