SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver was hospitalized after their dump truck overturned on I-8 on Thursday morning.
According to Fox 5 San Diego, the incident occurred at about 10:20 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Morena Boulevard.
Investigators say the truck slammed into a railing on the bridge and overturned, trapping the driver inside. The driver, whose identity is unclear at this time, was extricated and taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
The westbound exit ramp was closed for some time following the crash while clean up crews worked to clear spilled fuel from the truck.
Rollover collisions are among the most dangerous types of motor vehicle accidents. If you were involved in a rollover accident on San Diego roads, the actions you take afterward are essential when it comes to your personal injury case. The first thing you should do is make sure everyone in your vehicle can get out and safely move to the side of the road. If anyone is injured, contact first responders right away. Once everyone is accounted for, you should exchange contact and insurance information with any other drivers involved and gather evidence from the scene. After that, you should contact local authorities if you have not done so yet. Officers will arrive to take down an official report of your accident, which will prove to be a key piece of evidence when you file your claim.
