News: Pedestrian fatally struck by pickup truck in Encinitas

ENCINITAS, CA – A man was killed in Encinitas after being struck by a pickup truck on Monday morning, Fox 5 San Diego reports. 

The accident occurred just before 6 a.m. on the 1300 block of Encinitas Boulevard. The victim, a 79-year-old man, was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the pickup.

He sustained serious injuries but was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
