SAN DIEGO, CA — A 28-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle in San Diego’s Redwood Village neighborhood, according to ABC 10 News.
The incident took place at the intersection of University Avenue and 58th Street just after 7:00 a.m.
San Diego Police said the man was walking across University Avenue in a designated crosswalk when he was hit by a white Chevrolet Silverado heading southbound on 58th Street.
The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, including “a subdural brain injury, lung contusion, spleen injury,” and injuries to his hip, pelvic, and femur. He was rushed to an area hospital where his condition remains undisclosed.
Officials said the driver, a 31-year-old man, remained after the crash and alerted authorities.
An investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division was underway.
