News: Pedestrian killed by DUI suspect in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA – A woman was killed on Wednesday evening after being struck by a DUI suspect in El Cajon, Fox 5 San Diego reports. 

The crash occurred on the 600 block of North Second Street around 8:50 p.m. The victim was standing on the sidewalk when a northbound 2006 Hyundai Sonata drove onto the sidewalk and struck her.

She was then rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver continued on before coming to a stop on Naranca Avenue. The 22-year-old man behind the wheel was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a narcotic controlled substance.
