SAN DIEGO, CA – A male skateboarder died Friday after a trolley struck him at a crossing in the Mission Hills neighborhood of San Diego, reports Fox 5 San Diego.
The incident happened after 1 p.m. near the intersection of Noell Street and Kurtz Street, which is just east of Columbia College.
Police say the skateboarder was riding South on Noell Street alongside a bicyclist. For unknown reasons, the skateboarder entered the intersection even though the arms at the trolley crossing had been lowered. The trolley then collided with the skateboarder, who died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. A full investigation is underway.
