News: Person extricated from pin-in crash in Hillcrest

SAN DEIGO, CA – Emergency crews rushed to the scene after a vehicle crashed into a strip mall in Hillcrest early this morning.

According to a San Diego crash alert, a vehicle crashed into the mall located in the 1020 block of University Avenue, just east of SR-163.

It is unclear what led up to the crash. However, one person was pinned inside the vehicle and needed to be extricated.

No word on if anyone was injured in the crash is available at this time.
