News: Police chase ends in life-threatening injuries for driver

SAN DIEGO, CA – A police chase ended when the suspect’s car fliped over in El Cajon on Sunday morning, the Times of San Diego reports.  

Police attempted to pull over a driver for speeding near the intersection of Mission Gorge Road and state Route 52 around 7:50 a.m. The suspect, driving a black Mercedes convertible, drove off at a high rate of speed and the police began a pursuit.

The police pursured the man onto I-8 northbound and followed him until he exited the highway at Main Street. He then struck a curve, causing his car to flip.

The suspect, a 59-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and is not expected to survive.
