News: Police identify pedestrian killed in El Cajon crash on I-8

EL CAJON, CA – Authorities have identified the 48-year-old male pedestrian killed Sunday in a collision on the interstate in El Cajon, reports Times of San Diego.

The incident happened around 8:20 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-8 at West Main Street, which is just south of Mossy Nissan El Cajon.

The investigation indicates that a homeless man named Reginald Burke was struck by a Kia sedan on the interstate.

Burke died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle reported the collision to authorities. It is unclear if the driver remained at the crash site.

The investigation continues.
