SAN DIEGO, CA – A section of Miramar Road was closed when a semi-truck caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, Fox 5 San Diego reports.
The fire started around noon on Tuesday as the truck was driving near the intersection of Miramar Road and Camino Santa Fe.
The driver was delivering a load of trash to the landfill when he noticed smoke coming from the back of his trailer.
The driver detached the cab from the trailer and got himself to safety but the trailer became engulfed in flames and was destroyed.
It is not clear what caused the fire.
