News: Semi-truck fire closes Miramar Road

SAN DIEGO, CA – A section of Miramar Road was closed when a semi-truck caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, Fox 5 San Diego reports.

The fire started around noon on Tuesday as the truck was driving near the intersection of Miramar Road and Camino Santa Fe.

The driver was delivering a load of trash to the landfill when he noticed smoke coming from the back of his trailer.

The driver detached the cab from the trailer and got himself to safety but the trailer became engulfed in flames and was destroyed.

It is not clear what caused the fire.

If you were involved in a car accident along San Diego’s dangerous highways, the steps you take in the moments afterward are vital when you decide to file a claim. Before you do anything else, make sure everyone is safe and contact emergency services. Once everyone is accounted for, you should begin to gather evidence at the scene and exchange contact and insurance information with any other drivers involved. Next, contact local authorities to file an official accident report before anyone leaves the scene.
