News: Single-vehicle crash in Otay Mesa kills 1, injures 2

SAN DEIGO CO., CA – A single-vehicle crash in the Otay Mesa area on Thursday claimed the life of one woman and left two others serious serious injuries.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the incident took place in the southbound lanes of I-805 at the SR-905 transition ramp.

Police say the 18-year-old driver of a white BMW lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons and slammed into a roadside tree.

Firefighters with  San Diego Fire-Rescue extricated three female victims from the vehicle. One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two were taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
