News: Victim of National City van crash on Feb. 9 identified

NATIONAL CITY, CA – Police have named the 93-year-old victim of a collision that happened earlier this month between a transport van and a sedan, reports Fox 5 San Diego.

The incident happened on Thursday, February 9th around 11:36 a.m. near the intersection of East 1st Street and National City Boulevard, which is just east of I-5. 

The investigation indicates that the transport van struck a Nissan sedan in the intersection. The van then crashed into a street light.

The victim died after crews extricated her from the van and attempted life-saving measures. 

Authorities have identified the victim as Elisa Martinez of National City.
