News: Pedestrian killed on I-5 near border

SAN YSIDRO, CA – A fatal pedestrian accident temporarily forced the closure of northbound I-5 near the Mexican border on Tuesday, Fox 5 San Diego reports. 

The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of the highway, near West San Ysidro Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. 

For reasons that are not clear at this time a pedestrian was in either the first or second lane of the highway. They were struck by a vehicle and killed. 

No information on the driver has been made available at this time. 

The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
